Welcome

School of Nurse AnesthesiaWelcome to the School of Nurse Anesthesia!

Carolinas Medical Center and the University of North Carolina at Charlotte (UNC Charlotte) offer a collaborative program through which registered nurses with a baccalaureate degree in nursing have the opportunity to obtain the skills necessary to begin practice as a professional nurse anesthetist. Students completing this program graduate with a Master of Science Degree in Nursing and eligibility to sit for the National Certification Examination of Nurse Anesthetists. Successful completion of the Certification Examination qualifies the graduate to be called a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA).

The Master of Science in Nursing Program is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE). The nurse anesthesia components are accredited by the Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs (COA).

New classes begin in the fall of each year concurrent with the academic calendar at UNC Charlotte. The program may be completed in seven semesters of full time study or 10 semesters of part time study.

UNC Charlotte and Carolinas Medical Center are committed to equality of educational opportunity and do not discriminate against applicants, students or employees based on race, color, national origin, religion, sex, age or handicap.
