Transplant Programs

Liver Transplant Program
Liver transplantation was first performed at CMC in 1994. Since its inception, more than 400 liver transplants have since been completed.

Heart Transplant Program
Cardiovascular surgeons performed the first heart transplant at CMC in 1986. Since that time, CMC physicians have completed more than 400 heart transplants.

Kidney/Pancreas Transplant Program
The Kidney Transplant Team--surgeons, nephrologists, nurse clinicians, social workers, dietitians and pharmacists--have performed more than 1,700 kidney transplants.

Pediatric Transplant Program
Staffed by some of the most respected medical professionals in the country, Levine Children's Hospital, on the campus of Carolinas Medical Center, leads the region in offering a comprehensive range of specialized pediatric services, including kidney, liver and heart transplants.
