Ian Cole
Hometown: Phoenix
College: Grand Canyon University, Phoenix
Medical School: University of Michigan
Why you chose CMC: Great attendings, good mixture of patients in terms of pathology and demographics. Large volume, you see it all. Administration has a strong interest in resident well-being. More importantly, the residents who I spoke to before I came here were all happy with their choice and were easy to interact with.
What you love about living in Charlotte: Cost of living is very reasonable and downtown is easily accessible. The city is also close to a lot of other major cities and attractions. I have already driven to the East coast and gone to the beach and the drive was pretty easy.
What you see yourself doing in 10 years: Not sure, probably in a teaching hospital, not necessarily academic. Also, I hope to be involved in some type of international emergency medicine.

Why you chose CMC: Parker can be very convincing especially on interview day - he told us all we'd end up where we were supposed to and what do you know, I snuck in under the wire to get here.
What you love about living in Charlotte: The cops, making the roadways safer one Western driver at a time (too bad they started by ticketing me). Truly though, the people are really great - sincere and friendly.
What you see yourself doing in 10 years: Lots of days standing looking over the Sawtooths from the top of "Limelight" (ski run in Sun Valley, Idaho.) Professionally? Uhh....still working on that one.
