How to Become an Adult Volunteer
To become an adult volunteer (18 and older), contact the facility of your choice. You may be asked to complete an application, provide references, meet for an interview, attend a volunteer orientation and provide documentation of immunizations and TB test (often provided free by the facility). Training for specific volunteer positions is provided.
How to Become a Junior Volunteer - (Age 14 - 17)
To become a junior volunteer, contact the facility of your choice offering teen volunteer opportunities. You may be asked to complete an application, provide teacher and character references, write an essay on why you want to volunteer, provide documentation of immunization records, have signed permission from a parent or guardian, attend an orientation program and maintain a 2.5 GPA or higher.
If you would like to become a part of the many exciting opportunities available to healthcare volunteers, contact one of the volunteer locations. Remember, no matter how small a service may seem, it can be an integral part of the healing process.
