Keith Gersin, MD, FACS
Dr. Gersin is Chief of Bariatric Surgery. He specializes in flexible endoscopy, advanced laparoscopy and laparoscopic approaches to bariatric surgery. A Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, Dr. Gersin is a member of the American Society for Bariatric Surgery and the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy. He also serves on the faculty of the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons Resident Workshop at the Endosurgery Institute in Cincinnati.

Timothy Kuwada, MD, FACS
Dr. Kuwada is the Advanced Laparoscopic Fellowship Director at CMC-Mercy and a Clinical Assistant Professor of Surgery at the University of North Carolina. He is a specialist in laparoscopic bariatric surgery, laparoscopic gastric bypass and laparoscopic adjustable gastric banding. Dr. Kuwada is a member of the American College of Surgeons and the American Society for Bariatric Surgery.

Dimitrios Stefanidis, MD, PhD
Dr. Stefanidis is fellowship trained in minimally invasive, advanced laparoscopic and bariatric surgery. He specializes in laparoscopic weight loss surgery and laparoscopic general surgery. Dr. Stefanidis has a special interest in simulation and teaching of advanced laparoscopic techniques and is the medical director of the Carolinas Simulation Center. He is a member of the American College of Surgeons (ACS), American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (ASMBS) and the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons (SAGES) and actively participates in numerous national committees.
