The F.H. "Sammy" Ross, Jr.
Center and
its affiliated service, the
Hemby Pediatric Trauma
Institute
, provide Level One trauma care to seriously injured adults and
children. Less severe injuries are handled through CMC's Emergency
Department.
As part of its
mission, the F.H. "Sammy" Ross, Jr. Center offers trauma
education for health professionals
and conducts ongoing trauma-related research .
The Metrolina
Trauma Advisory Committee (M-TAC)
collaborates with regional trauma care providers to
evaluate trauma care and fortify the region's trauma system.
The Carolinas
Center for Injury Prevention
collects and analyzes injury data and promotes prevention
strategies.
