Trauma
Intensive Care Unit (TICU) This is a highly specialized level of care,
with a lot of equipment at the bedside. It can at first be frightening, however,
learning more about the equipment and its purpose will help you become more
comfortable with it.
General
Care Unit Patients with less critical injuries and those who no longer
need ICU or PCU monitoring are admitted to a general care unit. Nurses here are
responsible for several patients at once. We encourage you to take part in daily
care to prepare for returning home.
Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU)
Children
with severe injuries are admitted to our 12-bed PICU staffed by a team of
subspecialists, including pediatric intensivists. A nearby 24-hour waiting room
enables families to spend as much time as possible with their injured
child.
