Multiple Sclerosis Center

The Multiple Sclerosis (MS) Center was North Carolina’s first comprehensive treatment program for MS. The Center’s goal is to prevent the progression of the disease in MS patients and to contribute to research efforts designed to prevent, manage and cure MS.

About the Director

Michael Kaufman, MD
Dr. Kaufman is the Director of The MS Center at Carolinas Medical Center's Department of Neurology. He earned his medical degree from Duke University and completed his residency at Case Western Reserve University. Dr. Kaufman then conducted a Fellowship in EMG and Neurophysiology at the Mayo Clinic.
