Electroneurodiagnostics
A crucial component in the accurate diagnosis of many neurological disorders is the use of electroneurodiagnostic. This procedure involves the recording and evaluation of electrical activity in the brain and nervous system. The Department of Neurology features the most advanced electroneurodiagnostic technology available, including:
- Electroencephalogram (EEG)
- Evoked potential (EP)
- Nerve conduction study (NCS)
- Electromyelogram (EMG)
All tests are performed by experienced technicians, and results are interpreted by a physician specializing in electroneurodiagnostics. The findings provide the basis for the development of an individualized treatment plan.
Neurophysiological monitoring
Neurophysiological monitoring uses advanced computer software and equipment to assess the functional integrity of the peripheral and central nervous system during neurosurgery. This process can detect problems during surgery and alert the surgical team, who can then alter the course of the operation and reduce incidence of neurological complications.
