CHS and Novant Health to Lift Visitor Restrictions
CHARLOTTE – In a joint statement, Carolinas HealthCare System and Novant Health-Presbyterian Hospitals announced that effective today they will lift visitor restrictions that temporarily prohibited children younger than 18 from their hospitals during H1N1 and seasonal flu season.
Leaders at both healthcare systems made the decision based on three key factors: there have been sustained low levels of H1N1 in the community; there has been a high rate of vaccinations among the pediatric population; and, a large number of children have had H1N1 since April 2009.
Should there be a resurgence of H1N1 in our communities, CHS and Novant Health will reinstate visitor restrictions.
