COLUMBIA, S.C. – BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina and BlueChoice HealthPlan of South Carolina are pleased to announce that Carolinas HealthCare System (CHS) physician groups in York, Lancaster and Chesterfield counties in South Carolina have rejoined their networks.
Under contracts effective April 1, BlueCross members nationwide and BlueChoice HealthPlan members are now eligible for in-network benefits levels when receiving services from these practices. The practices were in-network with BlueCross until Nov. 22 and with BlueChoice HealthPlan until Jan. 4, when previous contracts lapsed.
“We’re happy to report that we’ve reached a three year agreement on terms of our contracts with Carolinas HealthCare System’s physicians groups, enabling them to rejoin our extensive statewide network in South Carolina,” said Elizabeth Hammond, BlueCross’ chief spokesman.
“On behalf of all our BlueCross as well as BlueChoice HealthPlan patients, CHS is pleased to once again provide in network healthcare services at our physician practices in South Carolina,” said Carolinas HealthCare System Executive Vice President Russ Guerin.
